Frequently Asked Questions

See some common questions and answers below, you can also call or text us at 678 498-2009

  • Does my pet need to be trained?

Not necessarily... Our very patient photographer is a certified dog trainer and has worked with many types of animals big & small over the years. She has many techniques for capturing a moment at just the right instant. We use props and leashes when necessary, which can be removed from the final images. We regularly take photos of rescued pets available for adoption. Many of these puppies and abandoned older dogs and cats  have very little training or experience staying still, yet we always capture beautiful images of them.  We will also do a brief assessment during the consultation appointment and will discuss training tips to practice at home prior to your session if needed.

  • What are your business hours?

We have flexible hours as all sessions are by appointment only. Office support hours are Daily from 9-6. If we don't answer we are most likely in a session and will respond as soon as we are back in the office.

  • Where is the studio located?

We are northeast of Atlanta, just at the edge of Gwinnett County, convient to the Gravel Springs, Hamilton Mill or Braselton 211 exits off I-85 and the Hwy 29 exit off Hwy 316.  On average our clients travel about 45 minutes to reach us. The studio address is 180 Mount Moriah Rd, Auburn GA 30011.

  • I have a black /dark pet, Will you be able to photograph them well?

Certainly! That is the main reason to have Heart Spot take your portrait! We know the perfect way to light a subject and are experienced in highlighting the eyes and fur of any animal, especially black dogs and cats with dark eyes. You will even notice in my gallery, a section devoted to Black on Black portraits.

  • How much should I budget for a session?

Because all Heart Spot sessions are customized for each client, pricing varies. Most of my clients spend a minimum of $500 on the session and custom artwork.  We occasionally offer special theme sessions, with packages starting at $175. These are seasonal,  tailored to a holiday or event and include exclusive offer products.   We accept all major credit cards. Please  visit the services and products page for more specific information.

  • What happens if there is bad weather or I need to reschedule?

We understand...Life happens! In the event we need to reschedule a session,  if notice is given at least  2 days prior to the scheduled event the cretive fee will be applied to your rescheduled session. If there is a chance of bad weather we can either shoot just in the studio or reschedule to a day within 2 weeks of the original date.

"We just love this photo! Thank youTracey for your dedication and passion for helping the helpless."

We would give 100 stars if that was an option! Tracey was absolutely amazing to work with from the first phone call all the way to the printed images! She is also a master at photo editing. We did an in home photo session for our four cats. The pictures turned out perfect! Both Tracey and Jim were very patient with our cats (who are afraid of everything) and got great shots. We ordered prints, an acrylic block and a canvas. Tracey made a composite photo of all the cats together for the canvas that looks as if they all posed together in one shot. It is amazing!

I can’t rave about Tracey and her business enough. I went to her to have some Christmas cards made, and man, she overdelivered in the best way. She had such a nice backdrop and tons of props, but she also let me bring my own. She and her husband are so friendly and great at what they do! My dog isn’t super obedient and I thought it would be tough to get posed pictures. Tracey made it look easy. I’ll be back for sure!

Willow - Atlanta

Tracey was so easy to work with, from setting an appointment to reviewing the images and choosing which ones I wanted.  She and her assistant knew how to work with the dogs. Three of my dogs cooperated, but one was afraid. Tracey was patient, took all the time needed and was able to actually get some good shots of her.  The pictures are so much more than I expected.  She captured the essence of each of my dogs and the images are breathtaking.  If you want pictures you want to treasure forever or share with others, Heart Spot will not disappoint.
